Saved!

Posted on June 29th, 2008.

Dark future’s nightmare snares me again.
I lose myself in myself, unable to see the light.
Misery becomes the hunter.
I am the whining prey, feet in the trap.

Hope’s promise comes born on angels’ wings!
I lose myself in You, unable to feel the darkness.
Your prophesy hunts the hunter.
I am the washed sinner, hands rising free.

I was lost and am found!
Blind yet now seeing all!
Happiness rains from clouds!
Dread nightmare is no more!

    • nunyaa,

I am sorry that you were rejected; but, the true Savior rejects no one.

2 Peter 3:9 - “He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts!

  3. Wonderful poem! I love the hunter/prey metaphor you used in this. Excellent imagery and works so well right alongside the themes of darkness and light. I’m so glad you’re publishing your poems, Scott. You are very talented! I love you! Elysa
